First Sport

On Saturday Bryce began taking his first soccer lessons. Shannon found a place that has indoor classes for Bryce and N's age. We signed them right up. The only thing is that they aren't in the same age group. That might actually be for the best b/c if they were on the same team, they would probably just fight over the ball. :) At this age the classes are just to learn the skills and the rules of soccer. I think maybe the next step or two up they start playing games against each other.
There were I think 8 kids in the class, some of them happy to be there, some not so much. I was glad that Bryce was one of the happy ones. He did really well kicking the ball, dribbling it down the field and kicking it into the goal. He didn't quite understand when the coach said to kick it softly. But none of the kids did, they all reared their foot back and kicked as hard as they could. :) It was kinda funny, but you could tell the coach was patient and had dealt with all this before. He was very nice. David was out on the field with Bryce to help him learn. I think David got a bit more frustrated than the coach did at some points. Bryce did very well for the most part. Towards the end (it is 50 min long), he didn't really want to listen anymore. He just wanted some juice. But all and all, he did good. And he keeps saying that he wants to play again! That is a good sign!
Sorry for the poor picture quality, the lighting was horrible in there and my flash didn't work very well.

Listening to the coach...

Stretching his muscles...

Running down the field...

Kicking it in the goal...

Learning how to stop the ball...
