David, his two brothers and his dad decided to do something fun together...they participated in the Richard Petty Driving Experience!
If you don't know what that is, people can purchase tickets to drive an actual race car on the Lowe's MotorSpeedway Track. They make you watch a video and lecture you a bit on the rules and regulations. Then they dress them up in the suits and helmets. There is a professional race car driver that drives in a car in front of them, but they are all by themselves in the car as they drive. There are lights in their cars that light up to tell them if they are getting to close to the car in front or if they can increase their speed, etc. They say the max speed is 140 mph, but Mike got up to 143! We all decided to go along and watch as they drove their cars. The boys loved watching and listening to the loud, fast cars! When we got there and I saw how fast the cars were going, I got a bit nervous! But no one got hurt and everyone had a great time! As Heath says, "vroom vroom!"
