Delayed celebration

For Father's Day, we decided to rent a boat and take the Pinti dads out for a fun day in the sun...and last Sunday was the day. Mike and Shannon used to have a boat and that was the last time Bryce was on one. So I was a bit nervous that he wouldn't like it and he would be terrified the whole time. But luckily for all of us, that wasn't the case. He was a bit scared in the beginning, but warmed up to the idea pretty quick. Soon N and Bryce were telling Uncle Mike to go faster. :)
We drove out to the sand bar so that we could all get in and cool off. The big boys threw the football around while the Lil boys were just having fun with the idea that they could touch the bottom and feel the sand. Before we knew it, it was time to head back to Mike and Shannon's to cookout. Good thing too b/c the lil boys were exhausted! But on the way back, we got the tube out. First Mike and N went on it. N did great, enjoyed every minute of it! Then David and Bryce tried it out. I was kinda surprised that Bryce agreed to it. He was doing really well and seemed to be having fun when all of the sudden, they both go in! Dave went under for a second, just leaving Bryce floating there, but dada grabbed him quickly. And the tube was floating away from the cover and rope. So Mike went out there to help David bring it all back in to the boat. David said that Bryce never cried, he just asked "why did we slide off the tube, dada?". :) Turns out the cover ripped causing the tube to slip out, so no one else got to ride it, but that's okay. Then after lunch, the big boys, Shannon and I went back out on the boat for just a lil bit longer.
It was a great day and we all had so much fun! We are lucky to live close enough to the lake that we can do things like this together as a family. Uncle Ben and Aunt Sarah...you were missed!
And a special THANK YOU to Shannon's parents, Chester and Linda for watching the little ones back at the house!! Too young for a boat this year, but next year they will be out there with us.
