Yesterday, Bryce and I had a day full of baking. Isn't that what everyone does before the holidays? :)
The first thing we made was a cake. This year we really tried to emphasise the reason we celebrate Christmas. We told Bryce that was don't celebrate Santa, we celebrate Jesus' birthday. He got really excited when we said "birthday". Everyday he asks if it is Jesus' birthday yet. It's pretty cute. Then the other day, he asked if we could make a cake for Jesus' birthday. Well, if we are teaching him what Christmas is about and he thinks that birthdays and cakes always go together...then sure, we will. He was so excited to make it and of course he wanted to eat it right then. So today we are going to bring it to the Pinti Christmas dinner. And before we dig into all the desserts, we are going to light candles and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. I think Bryce had a good idea and it will become a tradition in our house. It will bring us back to the real meaning of Christmas, even if it is just for a moment.
Then of course we had to make cookies for Santa as well. Bryce picked Chocolate Chip Cookies. A house full of goodies....yummy!

That's one of the girls favorite things to do, make Jesus' birthday cake. We have one every year. This year, we sang at breakfast, and then had TINY pieces after our yogurt..can we say EXCITED?!?!?! HaHa
We also set a place for him at the table, what's the point of having Christmas if Jesus isn't invited?
