The BIG 3-0!!

This past weekend we packed up the car and drove to Tennessee for my step-brother's 30th birthday party. I was looking forward to the visit b/c we hadn't seen them since April. (We went to the zoo the day before Heath came). Obviously it would be the first time they got to meet Heath as well. We took 2 cars, Mike drove his car with David and Bryce and my step-mom and I drove David's car with Heath. Both kids did very well considering how long we were in the car (about a 7 hour trip). We got there around 8 on Friday night. It was a long drive, but it was worth it. After all the kids were in bed we got a chance to sit around and talk about the crazy things we did. I know Krystale was probably thinking "and I let them into my house???". :)
Saturday morning was eventful to say the least and then that afternoon was the party. Krystale planned for a "rock star" themed party b/c Jamie loves his music. It turned out really good. Everyone wore either a "rock starish" outfit or the colors red and black. She had the decorations to match and even a cake that fit the rock star idea (you will see later). The food was great, it was nice to spend time with the family and their friends! Couldn't ask for more! Sunday morning we got up early and packed the car back up and headed home so Mike and David could be ready for work on Monday. It was a short trip, but we all really enjoyed ourselves. We felt very welcomed and we wouldn't have missed celebrating the old man's birthday! We are looking forward to the next visit, but not so short. :)
